One Saturday afternoon of August, I was walking along the busy street of Sham Shui Po where you can buy almost anything you can imagine. A bunch of old used pens caught my attention on a canister can, out of my curiosity, I’ve take a look almost everyone and managed to pick a choice of two Classic type pen and pay 20hkd each. As I arrived home, I tried to polish them and restore to its original looks as much as possible and they looked nice…
On the following Monday, I tried to search in the internet for the possible website of the pen because it has a name engraved on it and out of my surprise it was a Waterman Expert II pen. From then on, I tried to find more used Classic pens on that busy street by chance not specifically a Waterman but any Classic pen.
I have now couple of Waterman, a numbers of Mont Blanc pen both made from Germany and China, Parkers, Pilots, Cross, Jaguar pens, a small DuPont pen, Pierre Cardin, Hero, a handful of unmarked classic pens and of course Western design China made classic pens.
I don’t know why that it suddenly blooms out from nowhere my interest and passion to Classic pens. It is not the material importance but it maybe because the sense of respect and values I always reserved for the past, for the past is the foundation of who we are at the present and it’s always keep along a memories to cherish for a lifetime…and those Classic pens you what….it turning me Crazy….
